Cribs For Kids

The Laurel County Health Department and Community partners are working together to provide free cribs to promote a safe sleep environment for infants. Every four days a baby will die of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID). 70% of these deaths involve an unsafe sleep environment. Free cribs are given to income-eligible participants that have a baby up to 8 months old. Contact the Laurel County Health Department at 864-5187 if you need a crib.

To be eligible, you must live in Laurel County or receive services (for example WIC) from Laurel County Health Department.

Before receiving a crib, the recipient must watch a brief instruction video on how to assemble the crib.

Child Fatality Review Board

The Laurel County Health Department actively participates in the Child Fatality Review Board that meets quarterly with area officials to plan and implement child fatality prevention initiatives.
